SPONSOR A “SPECIAL NEEDS” DAL

Can't foster but want to help
a dog like Murphy?

We have had many people ask how they can help. The best way to help is by fostering or adopting a homeless Dal; however, many who want to help are not in a position that allows them to foster or adopt, so we have created another way: You can sponsor a Dal with “special needs.” Those special needs may be temporary or for the life of the dog.

It might be a dog that needs special medications or an expensive prescription diet.

It might be one that has to be in short-term boarding until a place opens in a foster home.

It might be one that must spend some time in an animal hospital until it is well enough to go to a foster home.

It might be a dog that is heartworm positive and requires treatment.

It might be a senior citizen Dal with only a short time remaining before the pain gets too bad and he or she will need to be humanely euthanized.

All of these are expenses over and above the “usual” vetting and fostering costs that we incur.

There are always more Dalmatians than we can help with our limited foster homes and limited funds. Those Dals that need expensive treatment beyond our means (for example, dogs that require treatment for heartworms) cannot be saved. We have to see those Dals destroyed by shelters that will not treat them.

With your help, we could save many of these deserving dogs. It might be a one-time payment for treatment, or a monthly check for special food or medication, or a pledge to cover boarding expenses until a foster can be found that would allow CCDAL to give these dogs the chance to find Forever Homes.

If you sponsor one of these Dals, we will keep you informed of his or her progress. With your permission, we will list you as the sponsor on the dog’s web page. To become a sponsor, contact Benji Brackman at musketeerswriters@hotmail.com or

at ccdal@comcast.net for more information on the current dogs with special needs and to select the dog you would like to help.

All donations are fully tax-deductible and a letter
will be provided for federal tax deduction purposes.
